USeP-CEd Partners with DOST (SEI) and DepEd-XI in the Training-Workshop on Designing Assessment Activities for Blended Learning in Science and Mathematics


Faculty members from the College of Education of the University of Southeastern Philippines served as trainers during the recently concluded three-day training-workshop on “Designing Assessment Activities for Blended Learning in Science and Mathematics,” on February 21-23, 2023 at the Ritz Hotel, Davao City. This training was organized as part of the Project S.T.A.R. (Science Teachers Academy for the Regions) of the Department of Science and Technology through its Science Education Institute (SEI) in partnership with the Department of Education Region XI and the University of Southeastern Philippines. It aimed at upgrading teachers’ skills in crafting innovative assessment activities using various blended learning strategies and tools for effective learning. Participants of the training were Math and Science teachers, principals/school heads, and supervisors from the Department of Education in Region XI. Among the training facilitators from USeP College of Education were Dr. Roar A. Callaman, Dr. Fedelis C. Bonocan, Assoc. Prof. Yvonne M. Kiel, Assoc. Prof. Geraldine E. Francia, and Asst. Prof. Josephine C. Gepigon. Dr. Eveyth P. Deligero from the College of Arts and Sciences was also tapped as one the training facilitators. Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr., USeP Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the message to the participants, on behalf of Dr. Lourdes C. Generalao, USeP President, during the awarding ceremony on the third day of the training.
