USeP Participates in the Higher Education Learning Summit

The University of Southeastern Philippines participated in the USAID Opportunity 2.0 Program with the theme “Higher Education Institutions: Partners in Out-of-School Youth Development” on May 30-31, 2023 at the Novotel Manila, Araneta City. One of the objectives of the program is to highlight the unique and pivotal role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to advance systems and opportunities for Filipino out-of-school youth as exhibited by partner HEIs of USAID Opportunity 2.0 Program. Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Velma S. Labad, faculty from the College of Education, participated as co-designers and developers of the ALS 2.0 multi-media instructional materials under the project entitled: Research and Development Grant for HEIs for the Development and Implementation of Online/Blended Learning Courses for ALS Implementers, along with participants from Miriam College and West Visayas State University.

Dr. Velouna R. Perez was also in attendance representing USeP’s engagement for the Davao City Alliance for Out-of-School Youth Development (DCAOSYD). Dr. Perez’ participation coincides with the program’s objective- “enjoin HEIs to continue and sustain knowledge-sharing and collaborations through Higher Education Community of Practice in Out-of-School Youth Development and Lifelong Learning in the Philippines.”
