Transforming Education Through Technology: Innovations for Future-Ready Teaching
The Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) program of the College of Teacher Education and Technology (CTET) at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) Tagum-Mabini Campus, Tagum Unit, hosted a research mini-colloquium with the theme “Transforming Education through Technology: Innovation for Future-Ready Teaching” on September 26, 2024. The event, held at the Farmers Training Center (FTC), provided a platform for pre-service teachers from the program to present their thesis proposals to esteemed international guests.
The colloquium featured two distinguished experts: Dr. Poonsri Vate-U-Lan from the School of Industrial Education and Technology in Bangkok, Thailand, and Dr. Jon-Chao Hong from National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, Taiwan. Both professors, recognized in the fields of educational technology and pedagogy, shared valuable insights and constructive feedback on the students’ research proposals. Their presence elevated the academic discourse, offering a global perspective on integrating technology into education.
Dr. Vate-U-Lan and Dr. Hong commended the students for their creativity and forward-thinking approaches while encouraging them to focus on practical applications that address the current challenges in education. They emphasized the importance of equipping future educators with the skills to harness technology effectively. They inspired the students by stating that their research matters and that their ideas and innovations will shape the next generation.
The Research Mini-Colloquium marked a significant milestone for the BEEd program, underscoring USeP’s commitment to academic excellence and global collaboration. The event demonstrated the University’s dedication to preparing future educators who are not only grounded in local educational contexts but are also attuned to international trends and technological advancements.
