CIC kick-starts AUN-QA journey through PDCA and SAR webinar

The College of Information and Computing (CIC), hosted the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) webinar last December 09, 2020, via the Zoom Meetings platform.

The AUN-QA Network established as the ASEAN quality assurance network in higher education which aims to promote quality assurance, raise the quality of higher education academic standards, and collaborate with regional and international bodies to benefit the ASEAN community.

The webinar, which was participated by all CIC faculty and staff and representatives from QAD and other colleges, aimed to strengthen the participants’ knowledge in programme level assessment and provide an initial assessment of the programโ€™s readiness for international accreditation.

Dr. Ethel Chula Joy Ong, associate professor of the College of Computer Studies of De La Salle University-Manila (DSLU), served as the resource speaker of the activity. She introduced the AUN-QA assessment at the program level as well as the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) model and the writing of a Self- Assessment (SAR), a requirement of AUN-QA
Assessment.

As an AUN-QA network member, the University of Southeastern Philippines targets its programsโ€™ readiness for international accreditation by the end of 2021. Two programs from CIC, initially identified by the Quality Assurance Division (QAD), namely: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), were tasked to apply for international accreditation via the AUN-QA assessment. The webinar kick-started this endeavor.
