The College of Information and Computing (CIC), through the Mindanao Center for Informatics and Intelligent Systems (MCIIS), conducted a ceremonial turnover of the “Records of Barangay Inhabitants Management System (RoBIMS),” an output of the research study “Digital Transformation of LGUs in the Davao Region.” This was done in partnership with Barangay Palma Gil, Talaingod, Davao del Norte, led by Barangay Captain and ABC President Hon. Pablo Tagnipes, who has been a key representative of the rural Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs).
The ceremony was held at the barangay gymnasium on March 24, 2025, and was attended by barangay councilors and purok leaders.
RoBIMS has become an essential tool supporting the barangay’s day-to-day operations. It assists in managing inhabitants’ records, processing document requests from constituents, and generating reports useful to both government and non-government agencies.
This initiative showcases CIC’s pivotal role in achieving the University’s vision: “to become a premier research university transforming communities in the ASEAN and beyond.”
