[ππππ ππππ] The University of Southeastern Philippines-School of Law (USeP-SoL), in partnership with Governance in Justice-United Nations Office for Project Services (GOJUST-UNOPS) and Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability (IDIS) Inc. conducted a consultative meeting with the barangay officials and the community paralegals of Barangay 10-A, Poblacion, Davao City on August 7, 2024.
The meeting aimed to validate best practices and identity concerns in institutionalizing the Environmental Paralegal Aid Desk (EPLAD) in the barangay. The EPLAD is designed to provide accessible and affordable legal assistance and support to communities. It aims to address both civil and criminal cases related to environmental concerns to promote sustainable development and environmental protection.
The meeting was attended by USeP-SOL Dean Atty. Arlene Lorejo-Cosape, Atty. Hector Soliman and Atty. Gelie Erika Esteban of GOJUST, Atty. Mark PeΓ±alver of IDIS, Brgy. 10-A Council headed by Mr. Armando Amancio, Riverside community paralegals, and USeP SoL Clinical Legal Educational students.
