Bachelor of Science in Agriculture

The Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Program (BSA) aims to educate students in the scientific habit of thought and entrepreneurial skills and prepare them to become professionals with entry-level competencies in technical agriculture.  It emphasizes the processes and techniques of identifying, diagnosing, and analyzing problems and in designing, packaging, and applying technologies needed in the development and conservation of agriculture and food system resources.

Students completing the BSA program will be prepared for careers in a variety of professions, namely:

          a.  Research

          b.  Farm Management

          c.  Agriculture and Food Technology

          d.  Entrepreneurship and business in agriculture

          e.  Teaching

Bachelor of Science in Forestry

The Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSF) program promotes the scientific conversion and management of forests for judicious and sustainable use of forest products and services. The Program covers four fields of study, namely: Forest Biological Sciences, Forest Resources Management, Social Forestry and Forest Governance, and Forest Products Utilization.

The graduates of the BS Forestry program should be able to practice the profession with competence and integrity in promoting sustainable management of forest resources and ecosystem services and conservation of soil, water, and biodiversity.

Doctor of Philosophy in Horticulture

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in horticulture is designed to prepare graduate students (men and women) for professional careers in basic and applied horticultural science. This also aids them in becoming successful independent researchers to help meet the challenges of providing safe and nutritious foods while sustaining an aesthetically-pleasing and healthy environment to support the health and well-being of humankind.
The program provides advanced science-based and gender-responsive education for graduate students through innovative teaching and directed horticultural industry research experiences. In this degree, students undergo coursework activities in various horticultural specializations and develop and manage an original research program leading to the development of a dissertation and publishable output.

Master of Science in Agricultural Extension

The Master of Science in Agricultural Extension (MSAgEx) is a two-year advanced study program and is focused on meeting the needs of those who are interested in developing careers in community extension, advisory, consultancy, or education services in the public, private or non-governmental sector. This MSAgEx will equip graduates with the skills and knowledge to understand more about the processes of learning that support change and development and to be effective in building the capacity of farmers/fishers to adopt new practices and technologies. Students will develop competencies in the analysis of the context of agricultural change; design and develop appropriate advisory strategies to support agricultural and fisheries development; how to support adult learning and behavior change; research and analytical skills to identify and support useful and relevant innovations.

Master of Science in Environmental and Resource Management
