To prepare the GSAS Comprehensive Exam-takers, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) successfully conducted the orientation on June 26, 2024, in Room E-207 at the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Building.

Dr. Marnie Grace I. Sonico, Dean of CAS, welcomed the students to the orientation and emphasized that the comprehensive examination is part of their journey as graduate students. This is where students demonstrate their thorough understanding of both their field and research focus.

Asst. Prof. Joy R. Risonar, CAS Associate Dean and GSAS Head, discussed USeP’s Memorandum Circular relative to the conduct of Comprehensive Examinations. This was then followed by the presentation of exam coverage by respective Program Heads.

University Memorandum Circular MC 2024-04 stated that the comprehensive examination is given to check the preparedness of graduate students to conduct research.
