
The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and Research and Development Center for Arts and Sciences (RDCAS) successfully conducted the 2025 CAS Research Congress and in-house review last May 6, 2025.
Organized by the RDCAS Center Manager, Dr. Ernel D. Bagbag, the Congress was made possible with the help of the following Program Heads: Dr. Ariel C. Pedrano of BS Mathematics, Asst. Prof. Anthony F. Capili of BS Statistics, Mr. Daryl S. Salas of BS Biology, Ms. Reah Izza T. Paglinawan of BA in Literature and Cultural Studies and Assoc. Prof. Sajed S. Ingilan of BA in English Language.
Present at the said event were Dr. Marnie Grace I. Sonico, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Helen Pondevida, former USeP CAS faculty and former Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension; Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Eveyth P. Deligero, Dean of the Office of Advanced Studies; Dr. Randy A. Tudy, Deputy Director of the Publication Unit; and CAS faculty members.
The research congress started with a short program and followed by engaging parallel sessions and in-house review, where students showcased their research, exchanged scholarly ideas, and strengthened their commitments to academic discovery. Faculty members also presented their proposals, contributing to the vibrant research community within CAS.

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics
Best Paper and Presentor – Ron Jerald S. Tulibao (Adviser: Dr. Ricky F. Rulete)
Bachelor of Science in Statistics
Best Paper and Presentor – Cybille Chariz A. Icoy (Adviser: Assoc. Prof. Fe F. Largo)
The CAS Research Congress and in-house review is one of the many activities that CAS annually conducts as it continues to actively contribute to the realization of the University’s vision of becoming a premier research university transforming communities in the ASEAN and beyond.
