GSAS Holds Face-to-Face Orientation for New and Returning Students


The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) successfully conducted the face-to-face Orientation Program held at Rooms E-209 and E-210, College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) building, last January 27, 2024.

The students were welcomed by Dr. Marnie Grace I. Sonico, the Dean of the College. She emphasized te three qualities to overcome obstacles and setbacks: hardwork, determination, and resilience.

For the Opening Remarks, Office of the Advanced Studies Dean Dr. Eveyth P. Deligero, stressed the Universityโ€™s Vision to the students anchored in inclusivity and transformative education.

Associate Dean Joy R. Risonar, who is also the Program head of the Master of Art in Applied Linguistics, presented the faculty and staff of GSAS.

After the presentation of the faculty, Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva, Vice President for Academic Affairs, gave an inspirational message to the new and returning students.

Program Heads, Dr. Angelo Lenard Yu, Dr. Majella G. Bautista, and Dr. Stephanie O. Espinola discussed the Graduate School policies to the students including the rules and requirements.

Different unis in the University were presented through a video: USeP Learning Resource Center, University Assessment and Guidance Center, and Health Services Division.

Objectives, and activities for Graduate School students were presented by the CAS GS Student Local Council Adviser, Ms. Jenifer R. Tuban. It was followed by Open Forum, where the President answered the concerns raised.
