The pioneering batch of fourth-year Bachelor of Arts in English Language Major in Applied Linguistics (BAELAL) students at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) took a significant step towards their professional journey with the Pre-Internship Orientation held on March 5, 2025. The event took place at the 3rd Floor Conference Room, TLE Building, marking a new chapter in the students’ academic and career paths.
Opening the session, Assoc. Prof. Genesesly R. Tahoy, Director of GAD, emphasized the importance of respect in the workplace, noting that positive, respectful interactions leave a lasting impact in any professional environment.
Dr. Marnie Grace I. Sonico, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, expressed her pride in the pioneering batch of BAELAL students and encouraged them to embrace the learning process ahead as they were the first batch to undergo the ELAL On-The-Job Training.
The session featured esteemed speakers, Ms. Fe Monique Musni Tagaytay, and Mr. Ramon Caesar L. Conjugacion. Ms. Tagaytay spoke on the importance of gender sensitivity and mutual respect in creating an inclusive work environment, while Mr. Conjugacion discussed the Safe Spaces Act, highlighting the need to address power dynamics and harassment to ensure safe and respectful workplaces.
The pre-internship orientation marked a key milestone for the fourth-year BAELAL students, equipping them with essential knowledge as they prepare for their On-The-Job Training (OJT) in the days ahead.
