The Mathematics and Statistics Department (MSD) of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the University of Southeastern Philippines successfully conducted a three-day Seminar-Workshop on Nonparametric Statistical Inference using R at Davao City National High School on July 18, 25, and August 1, 2025.
Spearheaded by the MSD, the seminar-workshop featured Asst. Prof. Victor Paul J. dela Cruz as the resource speaker. Asst. Prof. dela Cruz discussed key concepts of Nonparametric Statistics and their common tests utilizing R Statistical Software. Hands-on activity and presentation were conducted at every end of the session.
Present during the session were faculty of MSD. Supporting the implementation of the recently concluded activity were five selected BS Statistics student-interns, supervised by the department’s faculty.
The USeP-CAS Mathematics and Statistics Department aims to upgrade the professional basic skills in nonparametric statistical inference of the DCNHS Teachers and further deepen their statistical literacy by exploring methods that go beyond the assumptions of parametric models.
