The College of Business Administration (CBA) conducted a two-day Mid-Year Planning and Review, and Syllabus Preparation, Submission, and Review Workshop on July 31 to August 1, 2025 at Emilia Oasis of Faith, Island Garden City of Samal.
This initiative brought together the dedicated faculty members of the College for a focused and collaborative session to review, update, and enhance their course syllabi in alignment with institutional goals and current educational standards.
The syllabus is more than just a course outlineโ€”it is a guiding document that ensures learning is outcomes-based, learner-centered, and consistent across programs. With the recent release of the Universityโ€™s Process Manual on Syllabus, this workshop served as a timely response to the call for standardization, continuous improvement, and instructional coherence.
The Objectives for this activity:
โ€ข Equip faculty with updated knowledge on syllabus design;
โ€ข Review and enhance current course syllabi; and
โ€ข Promote coherence and relevance across all course offerings.
By the end of the workshop, participants were able to:
โœ… Produce revised and standardized syllabi
โœ… Complete the syllabus quality checklist
โœ… Begin drafting an action plan for continuous syllabus improvement
A special highlight of the workshop was the insightful session delivered by Dr. Adora Zerudo, Directress of the International Affairs Division (IAD), who shared valuable inputs on syllabus internationalizationโ€”underscoring the need for globally attuned course content that prepares students for international academic and professional environments.
This initiative fosters not only academic consistency and quality, but also encourages collaboration among educators in shaping an environment that supports student success.
Congratulations to everyone who actively participated and contributed to the meaningful discussions and outputs! Here’s to a stronger, more focused new academic year.
