The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) earned national recognition at Filipinnovation 2025

Quezon City, Philippines — The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) earned national recognition at Filipinnovation 2025, where its student team, the USeP Filipinnovators, secured 2nd Place in the Pitching Competition under the Public Administration Sector.

The event, held from April 28 to 30, 2025, at Novotel Manila Araneta City, was part of the annual National Innovation Day celebration organized by the National Innovation Council. With the theme “FLIP: Forging Leaders of Innovation in the Philippines,” the gathering brought together participants from government, industry, and academia to foster collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.

A key event highlight was the HABI Workshop, which stands for Huddle, Analyze, Build, and Innovate, and was designed to engage young innovators in design thinking. The workshop culminated in a nationwide pitching competition, featuring 62 participating schools and universities nationwide.

Representing USeP was a team composed of selected students — Mr. Alexander Vaughn Villasis, Mr. Dan Marlou Arevalo, Ms. Ellen Kaye Isip, and Mr. John Roice Aldeza. Their innovative proposal addressing challenges in public administration earned them a spot among the Top 10 overall finalists, ultimately placing second in their category.

The team’s success reflects their ingenuity, dedication, and USeP’s unwavering commitment to nurturing young leaders capable of developing impactful, real-world solutions.

Through initiatives like Filipinnovation, USeP continues to champion innovation, creativity, and excellence as it contributes to national development and public sector transformation.
