The University of Southeastern Philippines – Council of Clubs and Organizations (USeP-CCO) welcomes a “new era” for the council as it opens the Academic Year 2023-2024 with a new slate of council members for its 39th council.
After several rounds of election, USeP-CCO released the official results for the CCO Electionsโ€”introducing the 16 new council members and their respective positions on Saturday, August 26.
The previous council members are confident enough that Russel Simon Emanuel Diez, the newly elected president, will lead the 39th council and continue the previous councils’ legacy of serving the student body.
โ€œWe are very delighted, and amazed actually ang mga taga 38th Councilmen sa 39th Councilmen sa ilang dedication thru their credentials and answers sa mga questions,โ€ the 38th council shared.
Outgoing CCO President, Prisil Mae Autentico, was unable to deliver her privilege speech for the aspiring council members due to prior personal commitment.
A total of 84 candidates were recommended for the council. However, the number was reduced to 64 upon deliberation with the Commission on Elections (ComElec) and several concerned offices. The remaining candidates were then trimmed down to 20 of which they were all asked one question to identify the final 16 council members.
To determine their respective positions, the final 16 conducted an Internal Council Elections to which Diez won the presidency. Alongside Diez, John Mar Tajado and Keith Ulangkaya also won
Vice President for Internal Affairs and External Affairs, respectively.
There is no official date set yet for the 39th council to take their oaths.
