USeP BS Accountancy Students Excel in the 2nd RSM Davao Tax Quiz
Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) Program students of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) once again demonstrated their exceptional competence, determination, and academic excellence after securing the top two podium finishes in the 2nd RSM Davao Tax Quiz held at the University of Mindanao–Davao on August 18, 2026.
The competition, organized by Build Your Way Academy and Tax Help in the Philippines, brought together nine (9) teams from five (5) higher education institutions across the region. The event aimed to strengthen students’ knowledge and skills in taxation while promoting academic excellence, professional development, and collaboration among future accounting and tax professionals.
Two teams from the USeP BS Accountancy Program delivered an outstanding performance against their competitors. Team 1, composed of Gilbert Lobo, Louella Claire Quitoriano, and Jomar Vigonte, emerged as the Champion, demonstrating remarkable mastery of taxation concepts, accuracy, teamwork, and composure throughout the competition.
Meanwhile, Team 2, composed of Althea Vinise Mancera, Julie Angel Patos, and Jake Alburo, placed 2nd Runner-Up, further showcasing the depth of talent and competitive spirit among USeP’s accountancy students.
This remarkable achievement is made even more significant by the fact that USeP achieved the same rankings in the 1st RSM Davao Tax Quiz, with one team emerging as Champion and another securing 2nd Runner-Up. The back-to-back success highlights not only the students’ individual capabilities but also the consistency, discipline, and sustained excellence of the USeP BS Accountancy Program in taxation-related academic competitions.
More than the awards, the achievement recognizes the hard work and dedication of the six student participants, who invested time and effort in strengthening their technical knowledge, sharpening their analytical skills, and preparing for the rigorous demands of the competition. Their success reflects their willingness to challenge themselves, learn beyond the classroom, and represent USeP with pride and excellence.
The accomplishment likewise speaks of the quality of instruction, mentorship, and academic preparation provided by the BS Accountancy Program. Through a learning environment that emphasizes competence, critical thinking, professional ethics, and continuous improvement, USeP equips its students to meet the challenges of the accountancy profession and excel in competitive academic and professional settings.
