August 30, 2024 – The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) College of Engineering hosted an international engagement event with National Taipei University (NTPU) at the USeP Social Hall. The event featured research presentations from students of NTPU, student experience testimonials from Electronics Engineering alumni, and a comprehensive overview of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing. These activities highlighted the importance of fostering international academic and research collaborations and paved the way for future exchange programs between USeP and NTPU.
Engr. John Kenneth Casinillo, an alumnus and former faculty of USeP College of Engineering, shared his experience as a foreign graduate student of the NTPU. Engr. Honey Lynn Ramos, a USeP Alumna, provided insights in correlating the current curriculum of BS EE and EcE Program and NTPU.
An open forum provided a platform for students and faculty from USeP’s Electrical and Electronics Engineering Program to engage with their NTPU counterparts. The discussions centered on advocating for more exchange opportunities, exploring joint research projects, and enhancing collaborative learning experiences. The NTPU delegation also toured USeP’s engineering laboratories and facilities, gaining insights into the University’s resources and capabilities, which further underscored the potential for robust academic partnerships.
Dr. Dalia M. Reconalla, Dean of the USeP College of Engineering, expressed enthusiasm about the engagement, noting that it is a significant step in the University’s internationalization efforts. Representatives from NTPU echoed this sentiment, highlighting their commitment to exploring new avenues for cooperation. The event concluded with a networking session, setting the stage for deeper ties and collaborative initiatives between the two institutions in the future.
