The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP)-College of Applied Economics (CAEc) through the Socio-Economic Research and Data Analytics Center (SERDAC) in Mindanao, in partnership with the Economy and Environment (EEG) Group in the Philippines, successfully conducted the โ๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ผ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐บ ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ผ๐บ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ป๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฎโ last November 18, 2022, at USeP Social Hall and via Zoom. Among the participants are from NGAs, private sector, HEIs, and SUCs.
Dr. Gem B. Castillo, the National Director of EEG โ Philippines, presented the โRecent Development and Innovations in NREE in the Philippinesโ. Mr. Darrell D. Blatchley, the President Curator of DโBone Collector Museum Inc., discussed the โChallenges in Marine Life Preservation in Mindanaoโ. Moreover, Mr. Lemuel Lloyd I. Manalo, the Program Coordinator and Environment Research Specialist of IDIS Inc., introduced the โLand Use Change of Urban Wetlands in Davao Cityโ. Dr. Teresita A. Narvaez, the Consortium Director of WESMAARRDEC, talked about the โSustainability of Fishery Resources in Zamboanga Peninsulaโ. Lastly, Dr. Roy G. Ponce, the University President of Davao Oriental State University, presented the โMt. Hamiguitan as an ASEAN Heritage Park: The Value and Learnings for Sustainabilityโ.
Their expertise brought a new set of knowledge and a thorough understanding of the aforementioned topics, which will encourage the participants to develop research initiatives addressing various economic and environmental issues in the region and the country, as well as to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals.
