USeP-CAEc Advances Global Learning through ARISE Green Labor Lecture

The College of Applied Economics (CAEc) organized the Lecture on Green Labor on April 18, 2026, bringing together 28 graduate and undergraduate students for a timely discussion on sustainability and labor markets. The session, held from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, is part of the ARISE (Academic, Research, and International Societal Exchange) Lecture Series, an initiative that enriches academic instruction through global engagement.

The lecture featured Dr. Atif Yaseen, of Mykolas Romeris University, Lithuania. Dr. Yassen discussed the growing importance of integrating environmental sustainability into labor market analysis. He emphasized that understanding the intersection of employment and environmental policy is essential for future economists and decision-makers navigating increasingly complex global challenges.

A central focus of the lecture was the evolving structure of labor markets in response to environmental sustainability goals. Key competencies for future green jobs were identified, including technical skills in renewable energy systems, environmental management, and emerging technologies such as drone engineering. The discussion also explored the role of policy interventions, graduate training programs, and green entrepreneurship in supporting labor market adaptation.

The ARISE Lecture on Green Labor reflects CAEcโ€™s commitment to advancing education that is both globally relevant and socially responsive. Through sustained dialogue on sustainability and labor, the initiative deepens academic understanding of how economic systems intersect with environmental change. It also encourages critical reflection on the role of future economists in shaping fair, adaptive, and resilient economies.
