The College of Education (CEd), through the initiative of the Special Needs Education department, in collaboration with the Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Indonesia conducted a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) on Practices in Special Education and Transition Education for Learners with Special Needs on April 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN via Zoom.  This online collaboration activity was participated in by students in Special Needs Education of the College of Education of USeP and of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Asst. Prof. Marriez Aquino (USeP) and Dr. Nur Azizah (UNY) were the lecturers during the said activity.

The COIL was an opportunity for virtual exchange that enabled students and faculty from USeP and UNY to engage in cross-cultural communication and collaborate with international peers on discussions about Transition Education practices in the Philippines and Indonesia, and how families and professionals collaborate and work together in the delivery of appropriate SPEd services and programs for students with special needs. This paved for more collaborations in the future between USeP College of Education and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.
