
USeP First Year students competed in the recently concluded Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Qualifying Exam last September 27, 2024 at the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).
The PSQ aims to assess the competency and skills of students in Statistics acquired from the High School Curriculum and instill awareness and promote the importance of statistics as a tool in the advancement of science.
Present at the event were Dr. Marnie Grace I. Sonico, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Eveyth P. Deligero, Dean of the Office of the Advanced Studies, and faculty of the Mathematics and Statistics Department.
Among 33 contestants, the top three highest scorers are Franklin Xam R. Contreras of the College of Information and Computing, Ivander Clarence D. Areja of the College of Engineering CoE, and Shimona Ross S. Hingpit of CAS.
These students will represent the University in the upcoming PSQ Regional Championship.
The PSQ Qualifying Exam was spearheaded by the Mathematics and Statistics Department of CAS, in collaboration with the United Statistics Students Organization.
