For USeP CAS, TGIF has a whole new meaning.
It’s no longer just “Thank God It’s Friday”—it’s “Thank God It’s CASiyahan Fridays!” Every Friday afternoon, CAS faculty and staff come together to celebrate wellness, fitness, and fun through the CASiyahan: Friday Wellness Program 2025.
Held weekly from 3:30 to 5:00 PM at the USeP Center Stage and CAS Building Lobby, CASiyahan is a creative initiative where departments take turns leading activities designed to ease stress, encourage movement, and promote self-care. It aligns with the Civil Service Commission’s Great Filipino Workout while adding the CAS spirit of camaraderie and joy.
Since its kick-off in August 2025, the program has already completed three engaging sessions. Each Friday brought its own flavor of “Thank God It’s Fitness.” On August 8, 2025, CASiyahan opened with a punch—literally! Thai boxing, led by the General Education Department, set the tone. True to their role of providing foundations, they launched CASiyahan with a session on the basics of strikes and moves—transforming the workout into a reminder that every great habit begins with strong fundamentals.
Following the Kadayawan break, the Language and Literature Department spoke the universal language of energy and rhythm. Their kickboxing session was like poetry in motion—each punch and kick flowing like verses that fired up everyone’s spirit. Meanwhile, to balance out the intensity, the Natural Sciences Department led a calming yoga session. Through standing and seated poses, participants discovered the balance between body and mind, echoing the department’s pursuit of harmony in the natural world.
With the Mathematics and Statistics Department and the CAS Dean’s Office Staff scheduled to lead in the coming weeks, the excitement continues. Each session is a reminder that Fridays in CAS are not just about winding down—they’re about wellness, resilience, and togetherness.
Thanks to CASiyahan, TGIF now means more than the end of the workweek. It’s the start of feeling stronger, calmer, and happier.
Indeed, Thank God It’s CASiyahan Fridays!
