The Mathematics and Statistics Department of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is thrilled to announce our Lecture Series in Mathematics and Statistics, on October 25, 2024, via Zoom. 

The Lecture Series will feature two speakers: Dr. Sergio R. Canoy, Jr., and Associate Professor Johniel E. Babiera.

Dr. Canoy, a Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), has published 240 papers in national and international journals. His research interests include Henstock integration, topology, graph theory, and algebraic structures.

Assoc. Prof. Babiera, a faculty member at MSU-IIT, teaches courses like Statistical Computing, Regression Analysis, Time Series Analysis, Categorical Data Analysis, Bayesian Statistics, and Machine Learning. His research focuses on Statistical Modeling, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing.
