USeP-CAS conducted a mangrove planting activity in IGaCoS


On December 3, 2024, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), led by College Dean Dr. Marnie Grace I. Sonico, successfully conducted a mangrove planting activity in Peñaplata, Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS).
This initiative part of the extension program “Bakawan Para sa Kiabukasan: Mangrovetum Establishment, Capacity Building, and Development IEC Materials in Brgy. Peñaplata, Poblacion, IGaCoS”. This program aims to raise awareness about the importance of mangroves, foster community involvement in their planting and conservation, protect coastal resources, boost local economies, and safeguard the environment.
The activity was participated by selected CAS faculty members and students.
