USeP-CAS Language and Literature Department Attends NCCA’s Reading the Regions

The Literature Department of the University of Southeastern Philippines-College of Arts and Sciences (USeP-CAS) attended Reading the Regions: A National Arts Month celebration last February 28-29, 2020, 8AM-5PM, at Pinnacle Hotel, Sta. Ana Ave., Davao City, sponsored by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). The main goal of the said event was to share some various approaches on teaching literature courses, highlighting distinct traditions and emerging themes from different regions and across the different places of the country. A keynote speech about writing from the regions was delivered by the National Artist for Literature, Dr. Resil B. Mojares. The plenary lectures was given by an acclaimed poet Merlie M. Alunan and a novelist as well as an anthropologist Bro. Karl Gaspar, CSsR.
