The College of Education (CEd) Received Recognition from Partner Institution

The House of Hope (HoH) Foundation for Kids with Cancer Inc. (HoHFKCI), during its 10th year Anniversary celebration last September 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Waterfront Insular Hotel, Davao City, presented a plaque of recognition to the College of Education (CEd) of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), being one of its original partner institutions in the implementation of the House of Hope Hospital–Based Educational Program (HBEP). Dr. Raquel D. Almasa, current Dean of the College of Education, along with two faculty members, received the recognition on behalf of USeP.

The House of Hope Hospital–Based Educational Program (HBEP) started as an extension program of the College of Education in 2012, headed by Dr. Edna H. Jalotjot, who was then a faculty of CEd. Dr. Jalotjot, who has retired, now serves as Vice-President of HoHFKCI. The HBEP provides special educational services to children with cancer through an Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) in partnership with the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC). The educational program is now being managed by the House of Hope (HoH) Foundation for Kids with Cancer Inc. (HoHFKCI), in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) Davao City Division, through Dumanlas Elementary School, and SPMC. USeP, through CEd, remains to be one of its active partners in the endeavor to serve children with cancer and their families.
