In support of the University’s vision to be a premier research university in the ASEAN, the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences (CARS) conducted its Research Proposal Writeshop and College In-house Review on March 23-24, 2021. The preparation of the research proposal is one of the essential parts of the research cycle.
The objective of the writeshop was to generate fundable research proposals that reflect the University’s priority research agenda and align with the emerging research needs under the Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources (AANR) sector. It also served as an avenue for capacitating the faculty, non-teaching personnel, and graduate students of the College on the appropriate steps in developing research proposals. The activity was made successful by the resource person’s expertise, Dr. Purisima G. Bayacag, a prominent researcher.
A total of 6 research proposals and two extension proposals were presented and reviewed by the panel of evaluators, namely Dr. Emma Ruth V. Bayogan, Director, Center for Research, Development and Engagement in Mindanao (UP Mindanao); Dr. Purisima G. Bayacag, Professorial lecturer; and Dr. Gilbert A. Importante, SMARRDEC Consortium Director.
